About the Author

Paulette J. Buchanan (M.A., European History, B.A., History, Political Science/Public Policy), is a former educator who has taught primary, secondary and college level courses. She also worked in the Navy Education Office on the Groton, Connecticut Submarine Base. She has served her communities as a volunteer for over forty years, and since 2007 she has worked alongside other victims and legislators in efforts to bring about needed changes in the law so as to better protect individuals and society.

Paulette J. Buchanan is a member of International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA). In June 2023 she gave a presentation, “Stalked by a Cultist:  Fighting Back and Recovering,” at ICSA’s Louisville, Kentucky conference. For the ICSA/University of Tennessee February 2020 conference in Nashville, Tennessee she was the Table Talk moderator on the topic “Cults and the Law.” In November 2019 she gave a presentation, “Legislative Action as Part of the Healing Process,” at ICSA’s Santa Fe, New Mexico conference.
